Karashamb 2012 - Tomb 633

General Info

1. Chamber: rectangular, subterranean, natural burial, 5.90 x 4.60 x 2.68 m
2. The longitudinal axis is oriented east-west.
3. Six postholes, each containing two cobbles, were uncovered in the floor of the chamber suggesting that the tomb was covered by wooden beams.
4. External structure: the tomb is surrounded by a basalt cromlech measuring 16 m in diameter.
5. The deceased was a male between 25-35 years of age, the remains were scattered across the chamber floor.
6. Burial goods: 20 ceramic vessels, stone lid, bronze dagger, a hook, an awl, double-layered riveted bronze object, a sliver ring, silver plated fragments of a cylindrical bronze object, a shell pendant, 3 carnelian beads, stone polisher, numerous pottery fragments.
7. Additional information: the in situ context was disturbed as a result of the roof collapse and possibly looting.
